Hey yall
My name is Scottie and I am one of your leaders to Africa. I am so excited about this trip and getting to know each of you better. In only one short month we be meeting each other in Atlanta and on the way to a trip of a lifetime.
So I guess I should tell you a few fun facts about myself so you will know who you are gonna be living with.
I was born and raised in Memphis, TN and I am still close with my family. I have one older brother who has a wife and a beautiful daughter whom I absolutely adore! They live here in Memphis with a lot of my extended family still which is nice to be able to see them all the time.
I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2007 with a degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology with the intention of going to physical therapy school. After I graduated I moved back home and started working but just didnt feel like going back to grad school was right for me at the time. I worked with my youth group at the church I grew up in for a couple of years before I ended up leaving for The World Race in 2009. It was the best choice I ever made and it completely altered my life in way that I couldn't have ever imagined.

After the World Race I came back to Memphis and worked with my youth group again until I left to lead a Real Life/ Passport trip this past summer to the Amazon Jungle in Peru with AIM. Those 2 months taught me more than I thought they ever could. And now I have the honor of leading yall back to Africa for 4 months. It brings me so much joy!!
I have been to almost 20 different countries and every livable continent except Australia. I have killed a black mamba and other snakes, a goat, a cayman (well I helped with it), countless tarantulas and jungle rats. There are so many stories of mine to tell and so many stories of yours that I want to hear. Looking forward to it all.
