"For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it." Matthew 16: 25

This verse was God's straight message to me in my decision process to come on this amazing trip! 

I'm Jamina and I'll be 21 by the time I meet everyone. I am a junior in college studying Hospitality Management. I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. At my age of 9 my mother and I moved to CO and have been here ever since. I grew up in a Christian home and have attended church ever since I can remember.

I am extremely blessed to belong to an amazing church called Flatirons Community Church with a college ministry of about 300-400 college age kids! I gotta tell ya, I'd be lost in this world trying to find good Christian friends without this church. It has by far been my biggest blessing. Merge (college ministry) is my community, my family and it is my home. I could go on and on about how great of a blessing they have all been to me.

The reason that verse has been God's message to me is because having such a great community here at home, makes it hard for me to want to be gone for 4 months. That's me being completely honest. However, God has shown me so much these past couple of months. He's shown me life is so much bigger than me and my small (compared to the world) college community. I haven't taken a semester off in like 2 years, including summer, this is another huge leap of faith for me to drop a semester and follow God. 

With all that said, I AM super excited to go on this trip, I've never taken a missions trip before! When I was little I always said I wanted to be a missionary though, so it is an honor for me to be able to serve our God and to spread His word to the world, this is truly a blessing and I cannot wait till January! Also to see God's majestic hands as He provides the money I do not have lol!  

I'm so excited to get to know all of you better! I'm excited to get my world rocked by God and build new friendships that could last a lifetime!
