"And the Lord called from Heaven a second time." Genesis 22:15
Hey Guys! Great to finally see all of your names on the blog! Can't wait to start getting to know each and every one of you over the next four months! So exciting!!
Anyway, just a little about me: My name is Colleen Belbey, my friends call me Coco, I'm 19 years old and from Rhode Island (ya know, the really little state.) I have an awesome family; mom, dad, three brothers and a sister, all of whom are completely insane in a really good way. My dog, Pele, is equally as crazy and equally as awesome. She's totally the love of my life. Don't judge me
I recently left my job as a Nursing Assistant for RI Hospital's Trauma Unit and relocated to the DC area to work with Georgetown University Hospital. I've been here for four days and I'm lovin' it so far. Right now, I'm actually living with a bunch of Adventures in Missions alumni (such a blessing!) and its been great to just soak in their wisdom and fire for God's Kingdom. I keep praying some will rub off on me during these months of preparation haha!
As some of you may have guessed from the title of this post, this will be my second Real Life/Passport trip. Exactly a year ago, I was part of a fabulous team lovingly known as "Team Kenya" (we're weren't exactly creative haha) The three months I spent in Africa last year changed the course of my life forever. I treasure the memories, the faces, the stories and I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of it. Enjoyed it so much, I decided to do it again!!
So, if you're like me and have tried this whole missionary thing before, prepare to go deeper! Deeper into prayer, deeper into sacrifice and deeper into the Spirit. And if you've never done anything like this in your life....prepare to get rocked by God.
Cause things are about to get REAL!!
Much Love,
Colleen
