I guess it's time to face the inevitable...
I've been putting this off because I'm really bad at writing about myself, but sooner or later I was going to have too, haha.
My name is Devon, I feel like I should have a nickname since everyone else does :) ha, occasionally people call me "D" when they're to lazy to say Devon, so you're free to call me whatever you like. I'm 20 years old and from the great state of Michigan. (my family and I are huge UofM fans!!)
I have a wonderful mother and father who do so well at putting up with me, two beautiful sister's (one who is expecting oh so very soon) and the best brother-in-law. My family is my support system, even on the worst of days.
I've gone to church my whole life, which I am so thankful for, but definitely had a few years of poor decision making...(another story for another time)
Missions is where my heart is. I'm not entirely sure how God's going to use me, but I'm confident that when the time's right He will revel what I need to know. I've only been on two short term mission trips, the first to Bogotá, Colombia and the second to Juarez, Mexico. But, the hardest mission I've had so far has been at work. I'm the only "active" Christian, which can be discouraging at times, but I try to be the best example of Christ I can be, there's a reason why I'm there and I trust what God is doing.
Words do not begin to express how excited I am for this trip! This is literally a dream come true.
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I would be going to Africa. I'd play in my sandbox and try and dig my way there. I wanted to be a doctor, move to Africa and care for all the people. I never knew why, except that God had put it on my heart at an early age. I never knew when, or how I'd go, I just knew I'd be going. And in June I was presented with this opportunity.
I have been praying for all of you from the very beginning. I've been praying for our efforts. And I've been praying for the people we will encounter. I'm so excited to have the opportunity to serve with all of you!!!
If you beat me to it look for me on Facebook, I should be the only female Devon Cosner.
oh and a picture will be coming soon...
